Since his debut in 2003, expectations for Hirooki Goto were always sky-high. Trained by four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Goto began fulfilling those expectations quickly, bursting onto the scene by winning the 2005 Young Lion’s Cup. Tournaments became Goto’s forte, capturing the 2008 G1 Climax, the 2009, 2010, and 2012 New Japan Cup, and the 2012 and 2014 World Tag League with Karl Anderson and Katsuyori Shibata, respectively.
The former Takaaki Watanabe was rechristened “The King of Darkness” EVIL by Tetsuya Naito as he was introduced as the latest member of Los Ingobernables de Japon in Fall of 2015. Since discovering how to channel darkness, EVIL has thrived, reaching the finals of the 2015 World Tag League with Naito and had wins over then-IWGP Intercontinental Champion Michael Elgin and then-NEVER Openweight Champion Katsuyori Shibata in the 2016 G1 Climax.
Ken Anderson makes his ROH debut in Hopkins, MN and has a chance to capture championship gold on his very first night! Scurll, and champions before him like Jay Lethal, Tomohiro Ishii, and Bobby Fish before him have elevated the ROH World Television Championship to the level of the ROH World Championship and Anderson looks for an opportunity to add his name to this storied lineage.
