On Sunday afternoon, Full Impact Pro Wrestling presented its Spring Stampede show as a part of the Hernando County Fair. Who will challenge Roderick Strong for the FIP World Heavyweight Title? Who will challenge Erick Stevens for the FIP Florida Heritage Title? Will the Heartbreak Express get a chance to take on the YRR or will it have to wait until FIP returns to Inverness on May 25th? Who will win the Southern Stampede Bunkhouse Battle Royal(e)? Here are the results.

The YRR of Chasyn Rance, Kenny King, Sal Rinauro, and Steve Madison come to the ring. Kenny gets on the mic and he mentions that this is not just an assembly of amazing athletes but it is what everyone wants to be and what women want. He says that they are also contenders and he demands a title match against FIP World Champion Roderick Strong. He says that Roderick is afraid of him.

Chasyn Rance gets on the mic and he says that he will take the Florida Heritage Title from Erick Stevens and says that they are back in full force now that Steve Madison is back after taking some time off.

Madison gets on the mic and he says that if the men in the crowd were at the Grand Canyon with their wives and looked over the edge, their wives would kick them off for him.

Jerrelle Clark comes out and he calls the members of the YRR a bunch of blowhards and then he discusses his issues with the YRR. Clark challenges any member of the YRR to a match.

Match Number One: Jerrelle Clark defeats Steve Madison
Madison starts off the match with an arm drag and that leads to a one man celebration in the ring. Clark quickly gains control of the match and he frustrates Madison to the point that Steve leaves the ring to regroup. When Madison returns to the ring, he takes over and sends Clark outside the ring where Jerrelle is slapped by the woman who accompanied the YRR to the ring. Clark is brought back into the ring with a Jackhammer for a two count. Madison tries to cheat to get the three count but the referee does not allow it. Madison tries to get greedy and goes to the turnbuckles for an elbow but he misses and that allows Clark to get back into the match. Madison tries for a powerbomb but Clark gets the three count with a sunset flip.

Match Number Two: Jaison Moore defeats Jonathan Davis and Amien Rios
The match starts off with Moore watching Davis and Rios wrestle from the corner. Moore finally gets involved after Davis and Rios go back and forth without gaining an advantage. Moore hits a fallaway slam on Davis but Rios breaks up the cover. Moore tries to get a rollup on Rios but Rios holds on to the ropes and Davis hits a 619. Moore hits a Northern Lights suplex on Davis and then he puts Rios in the Cobra Stretch and Rios taps.

Match Number Three: Dimbala defeats Ralph Mosca
Dimbala gets the early advantage as he works over Mosca with a series of head butts and clotheslines. Mosca recovers and slams Dimbala and Mosca goes up top and hits a cross body for a two count. Dimbala gets a foreign object and the referee takes it from him before he can use it on Mosca. While the referee is distracted, Dimbala hits Mosca with another foreign object and gets the three count.

Match Number Four: Scott Davis defeats ‘Awesome’ Austin Creed
Davis wants Creed to shake his hand but the crowd tells Creed not to do it. Eventually they do shake hands. Creed works on Davis’s arm but Davis gets to the ropes and leaves the ring to regroup. Davis returns to the ring but Creed maintains control of the match until Davis hits a slam. Davis tries for a knee from the second turnbuckle but Creed moves. Creed continues to work over Davis but Davis goes outside and Creed falls for the trap of the veteran which leads to Davis taking over the match upon their return to the ring. Davis finishes off Creed with a pile driver.

Match Number Five: The Heartbreak Express (Sean and Phil Davis) defeat Shan Hill and Austin Amadeus
Hill and Amadeus attack the Heartbreak Express as they enter the ring but the Heartbreak Express are able to fight back and they hit a drop toe hold and elbow drop combination. After the Heartbreak Express work over Amadeus, Hill is able to tag in and he works over Phil. Amadeus and Hill distract the referee to prevent Sean from entering the match despite a legal tag but since the referee did not see it, it did not count. Hill and Amadeus continue to control the match until Hill accidentally clotheslines Amadeus when Phil moves and that allows Sean to be tagged in. Sean takes care of Hill and Amadeus and then the Heartbreak Express get the three count with the double gouzle.

After the match, Sean Davis gets on the mic and he says that it is only a warm up for their bunkhouse brawl against the YRR on May 25th. He says that the match in Inverness will be violence personified and they will make the YRR bleed.

Sal Rinauro comes out and he calls the Heartbreak Express two tough guys in pink and that they do not scare him. Chasyn Rance, Kenny King, and Steve Madison attack the Heartbreak Express while they are distracted. King, Rance, Rinauro, and Madison work over Phil and Sal says that Team Romp and Stomp will take care of the Heartbreak Express. Seth Delay, Erick Stevens, and Roderick Strong come to the ring to help the Heartbreak Express.

Match Number Six: Sal Rinauro defeats Seth Delay
The match starts off with some mat wrestling and Delay with a waist lock and Rinauro tries to escape. Delay lets go of the hold but Rinauro does not realize it and he continues to try to escape the hold while Delay watches with the referee. After going back and forth, Rinauro has the woman who accompanied the YRR to the ring today get on the apron to distract Delay and that allows Rinauro to kick Delay while the referee was also distracted. Rinauro uses a slingshot belly-to-back suplex to try to finish off Delay but Delay kicks out. Rinauro thinks that he has Delay finished, but Seth fights back and he gets Rinauro down. Seth goes up top but he is forced from the turnbuckles and Rinauro gets the three count.

After the match, Chasyn Rance comes out to attack Delay and Erick Stevens gets on the mic. Stevens says that he is sick and tired of the YRR’s shenanigans. They are always picking on the little man so now he is turning the tables on the YRR and he tells Rance that Chasyn’s midget ass is his.

Match Number Seven: Erick Stevens defeats Chasyn Rance to retain the Florida Heritage Title
The crowd is clearly behind Stevens and Rance goes outside the ring to figure out how to deal with Stevens. Stevens is able to control the early portion of the match and works on Rance’s arm. Stevens is tripped by the woman who is with the YRR and that allows Rance to take over and work on Stevens’s back. Rance tries one too many times to work on Stevens’s back and Stevens rolls over and catches Rance with a knee. Stevens with a gourdbuster for a near fall. Rance hits a super kick and then he asks for one of the girl’s boots. Rance misses with the boot and Stevens hits the Doctor Bomb for the three count.

After the match, Kenny King comes out and attacks Stevens. This brings out Roderick Strong and Strong checks on Stevens.

Strong gets on the mic and calls him an SOB and says that he is a little fired up so why not start the match right now.

Match Number Eight: Roderick Strong defeats Kenny King to retain the FIP World Heavyweight Title
Strong starts off the match with a chop and then he throws King out of the ring. As the battle moves around the ringside area, they fight to the railing and into the crowd. King gets a drink from one of the people in the crowd and throws it at Strong. Strong responds by grabbing a cheeseburger and rubbing it in King’s face. Strong and King continue to fight in the bleachers and they exchange chops and punches. They fight down the bleachers and Strong with a clothesline that knocks King off the bleachers. King gets back onto the bleachers and hits a double stomp onto Strong on the ground. They leave the bleachers and head back towards the ring and Strong sends King into a concrete barrier. They return to the ring and Strong with a boot from the top turnbuckle. King blocks a suplex attempt and he drops Strong on the top rope as he works on Strong’s back and midsection. King gets a two count with a Blue Thunder Driver, but Strong is able to fight back and hits an enzuigiri followed by a Yakuza kick and a Gibson Driver for the three count.

Match Number Nine: Sean Davis with the ‘Come as you are’ Bunkhouse Battle Royale
The participants in the match were Steve Madison, Sal Rinauro, Austin Amadeus, Jaison Moore, Amien Rios, Ralph Mosca, Dimbala, Chasyn Rance, Jonathan Davis, Scott Davis, Austin Creed, Sean Davis, Phil Davis, Shan Hill, Jerrelle Clark, and Seth Delay
The order of elimination was Jaison Moore, Steve Madison, Austin Amadeus, Seth Delay, Amien Rios, Shan Hill, Austin Creed, Phil Davis, Jerrelle Clark, Jonathan Davis, Scott Davis, Dimbala, Ralph Mosca, Sal Rinauro, and Chasyn Rance.
The match featured Jaison Moore being eliminated before the match officially started. Seth Delay was almost eliminated a number of times but he was able to hold on to the ropes and roll back into the ring. Dimbala eliminated a number of people in the match before he was finally eliminated by Ralph Mosca. The final four participants were Sean Davis, Chasyn Rance, Sal Rinauro, and Ralph Mosca. Rinauro and Rance got rid of Mosca to allow them to focus on Davis. Rance and Rinauro work over Davis, but Davis eliminates both men with a double clothesline.

After the match, Sean gets on the mic and he says that was just a small taste of what will happen to the YRR on May 25th in Inverness. He says that the Heartbreak Express will not just beat the YRR but they will make the YRR bleed.

Southern Stampede Thoughts:

This show was a part of the Hernando County Fair so they did not use the building that the company normally runs in and the show was held outside. Unlike the first Inverness show (Strength In Numbers), there was no cover so the fans and wrestlers were out in the sun. There was also a distance between the ring and the stands.

This was a smaller show than the usual FIP shows and did not feature wrestlers from outside of Florida or Georgia. This show did feature a number of FIP regulars like the Heartbreak Express; YRR members Kenny King, Sal Rinauro, Chasyn Rance, and Steve Madison; Seth Delay; Jerrelle Clark; Jaison Moore; and the two singles champions Roderick Strong and Erick Stevens.

This show provided some of the up and coming wrestlers from Florida to get a chance to see how they could do against the caliber of talent in FIP. I have seen a few of the wrestlers like Austin Amadeus, Shan Hill, Scott Davis, and Ralph Mosca wrestle in other companies in Florida. I thought they performed well in this environment and maybe we will see them return in the future.

This was also the return of Dimbala who wrestled previously as LaDuke Jakes and was one of the first members of DP Associates.

I thought the Clark/Madison match was a good way to start the show and built off the opening promo where Kenny King and Chasyn Rance stated that they wanted title matches. Clark has been on a bit of a roll in singles matches and it will be interesting to see what happens with Steve Madison back in the fold for the YRR.

Despite being a typical April afternoon in Florida, the crowd was lively for the entire show and were into the show, especially when Kenny King and Roderick Strong battled into the bleachers.

Seth Delay and Sal Rinauro have had a very solid series of matches in FIP since Sal joined the YRR. They have a lot of chemistry in the ring and despite having a number of matches against each other, the matches are still fresh.

Over the last two years, two of the most improved wrestlers have been Chasyn Rance and Erick Stevens. With Erick’s addition to the Ring of Honor roster and Chasyn’s dominance of the cruiserweight division in many companies in Florida and Georgia, the next batch of Florida wrestlers are ready to make their mark. I thought Rance and Stevens had a good match and I would not be surprised if we will see this rivalry grow especially with the Florida Heritage Title for them to battle over.

On the last two FIP shows, Roderick Strong has defended his title against Sal Rinauro and Kenny King and has had good matches against both of them. Even though he might get more national recognition defending the title against the likes of Christopher Daniels on a Ring of Honor show, his matches with King and Rinauro have been very good. They did a lot to get the crowd into the match with their brawl in the bleachers and brought out some spots that you would not normally see at a show because of the environment.

It was strange that there was a ‘come as you are’ bunkhouse battle royale and the only person who was not wearing regular wrestling gear was Ralph Mosca who was wearing jeans. I was expecting to see the Heartbreak Express and YRR factor into the finish of the match and I liked the finish with Sean clotheslining Rance and Rinauro over the top to win.

I also want to add that IF FIP had released the December shows on PPV, I would have bought one on Friday. But they are yet again falling behind. I'm starting to think the spring 2006 shows will never, ever be released...

I am a legit redneck after this show. Ouch.

This show was a lot of fun. Roderick / King was great, and a match I would love to see again.

Thanks Rich as always for your FIP reports. I don't get to purchase as many DVD's as I'd like from FIP but I do like to follow the company so I really look forward to your detailed reports.
