Rave To Run No More!
Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Ring of Honor has a history of storied Dog Collar Matches: Punk vs. Raven, Rave vs. Punk, Delirious vs. Pearce, and Aries vs. Jacobs; each has been a brutal war that has left a lasting impact on the competitors involved. Now one veteran of that match will be forced to strap the collar around his throat one more time.

For months now Jimmy Rave has done his best to stay out of the clutches of The Necro Butcher. Electing to either hit-and-run or have his fellow Embassy allies do the dirty work, Rave has only chosen to get in the ring with Necro when the chips were in his favor. The rest of the time, “The Crown Jewel” would rather turn tail and run. Rave sees things a bit differently as you will see in the next edition of the ROH Video Wire, but the bottom line is that ROH officials feel it is time to give Necro his due, and insure that Jimmy Rave won’t be escaping.

ROH officials have come to the conclusion that on September 19th in Chicago Ridge, Jimmy Rave will have to stand and face The Necro Butcher and since he has proven unable or unwilling to do it on his own, he will go one-on-one with the madman in a Dog Collar Match! Rave has been in this position before quite some time ago, at “Manhattan Mayhem” in 2005 to be precise, when he was chained to CM Punk. That night Rave was victorious, with a little assist from The Embassy of course, as he bashed in Punk’s skull with a steel chair. Rave has shown a certain propensity for getting down and dirty when need be, but that is most certainly not his preferred means of combat.

As for Necro, well he has certainly been involved in this type of match before, given his storied history as “The King of The Deathmatch”, but never before in Ring of Honor. But the ROH faithful have seen this madman in Barbwire Matches, in the Cage of Death, in Steel Cage Warfare, and everyone knows what atrocities he’s capable of committing. This is a whole different ballgame for Jimmy Rave, he may have been the winner in his first Dog Collar Match, but Necro is a completely different animal than CM Punk.

“Jimmy Rave can’t run no more,” stated Necro. “That coward’s finally getting’ what’s been comin’ to him in Chicago, and I can’t wait to wrap that chain around his throat and squeeze ‘til his eyes pop out. You’re gonna be a bloody mess when I’m through with you Jimmy Rave, Embassy be damned.”

We will have comments from a surprisingly confident Jimmy Rave in the next ROH Video Wire. Tickets are on sale right now for this event on Saturday night Sept. 19th, and if you take full advantage of the current sale, you could save up to 45% off your reserved ticket price! Now with a Dog Collar Match, Briscoes vs. Wolves, Black vs. Danielson, and Cabana vs. Castagnoli, and red hot tag team action, this is shaping up to be one of Chicago’s best, so don’t miss out!
