October 2nd: Hey Collinsville and Indianapolis! Did you catch the big main page announcement earlier this week? The new ROH Executive Producer and legendary wrestling mastermind James E. Cornette is coming your way! The “Louisville Slugger” will be on hand for both events, and will be a part of a FREE meet-and-greet before the action begins. For more information on Cornette’s appearances, please check out http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=3007. We hope to see you all in Collinsville and Indianapolis! Tickets are currently on sale for 25% off their regular price. Read below for details.
October 2nd: ROH World Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards is scheduled for surgery on his broken elbow today. An update on Edwards’ condition and the tag title situation is forthcoming.
October 2nd: Kevin Steen and El Generico had it within their grasp. But when Steen plunged 20 feet from a ladder through a table to the floor, it was as if time stopped. Soon thereafter, Davey Richards was hoisting the ROH World Tag team titles high overhead. Steen and Generico called their shot and failed. We will have exclusive video of Steen and Generico’s post-match reaction in next weeks Videowire. What is next for the former World Tag Team Champions?
October 2nd: Davey Richards feels for his brother in the American Wolves. He dreads the thought of Eddie Edwards missing any time in their hunt. But Richards knows that every wolf at one time or another hunts alone, and even though he’s a capable warrior, the prospect of fighting off the Briscoes, Young Bucks, or Steen and Generico by himself is a bleak one. Richards also holds a shot at the ROH World Title in his grasp by virtue of winning the inaugural Toronto Gauntlet during “Death Before Dishonor” weekend. To that end, we have it on good authority that a private meeting between Davey Richards and Austin Aries took place earlier this week. ROH officials hope to have word on what took place at that meeting next week in the wire.
October 2nd: Ring of Honor wishes to extend thanks to the incredible Bret “Hitman” Hart for the great influence in our locker room and the professionalism he exuded during his ROH appearances.
October 2nd: You can now TAKE 25% OFF YOUR NEXT ORDER at ROHWrestling.com. Act now to save on all DVD's, live event tickets, and apparel. For complete details along with the sale code click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2215.
October 2nd: Remember that current GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion KENTA returns to Ring of Honor for the month of November! It all kicks off when ROH and HDNet reconvene in Philadelphia on November 5th and 6th to tape six more weeks of the best wrestling on television. Just signed for the tapings: ROH World Champion Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Mark and Jay Briscoe, Kenny Omega, Joey Ryan, and making his return to ROH, “The King of Old School” Steve Corino! ROH officials hope to have comments from Corino regarding this news next week. We’ll have more names for the tapings as well at ROH big return to Edison, NJ next week in the wire!
September 30th: ROH World Champion Austin Aries was not happy that he was unable to complete the “A Double L Double” last weekend in New York. After pulling Bret Hart’s name, with obviously no intention of wrestling, Aries was one step from taking the night off. Petey Williams took umbrage with the tactic and the two proceeded to have one hell of a match, which Aries won via countout in dramatic fashion. “The idiots of Manhattan were more interested in yelling ‘Twinkies’ at Sinclair than to realize that they were watching yet another MOTYC from ‘A Double’,” said Aries. “But because I’m a giving man, perhaps the greatest giving man that ever lived, I’m going to give the people of St. Louis what the people of New York didn’t deserve. That’s right; the ‘A Double L Double’ comes to St. Louis on October 9th! And not only will my hat have every name of every competitor on the card that night, but I’ve also secured the names of 15 other legends and wrestling icons that want their ultimate wish granted. Remember kiddies, wishes can come true, but they probably never will.”
September 30th: Attention Indianapolis! Ring of Honor officials are happy to announce that “Survival of the Fittest” is returning to ROH and will take place on October 10th! Three opening round matches were previously signed, and are as follows:
-Tyler Black vs. Kenny King

-Chris Hero vs. Kenny Omega
With that, we are happy to announce that the following Survival of the Fittest qualifying matches will also take place on October 10th:

September 28th: Glory By Honor VIII is in the books, and without question, it was one for the ages! As Ring of Honor said farewell to two of her brightest stars, one returned! The legendary James E. Cornette made a surprising return to ROH in New York, officially named Executive Producer earlier that day by ROH President Cary Silkin. “We couldn’t be happier to have him on board,” said ROH on HDNet Producer David Lagana. “To have his experience and his knowledge is immeasurable. Everyone is excited.” Cornette will be on hand when Ring of Honor and HDNet return to Philadelphia on November 5th and 6th to tape another six weeks on the best wrestling on television. Check out http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2997 for more on Cornette’s amazing return to Ring of Honor. For a sneak peak at the reaction Cornette received, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2ywTkCC1WQ .
September 28th: Fans in attendance for GBHVIII that caught glimpse of another notorious return of sorts can attest - you never know what might happen at an ROH live event!
September 28th: Tonight's episode of "Ring of Honor Wrestling" on HDNet features Brent Albright vs. Claudio Castagnoli inside a Steel Cage, Tyler Black & Jerry Lynn vs. Rhett Titus & Kenny King, Nikki Roxx vs. Sara Del Rey, and Sonjay Dutt vs. Alex Payne. Don't miss the action starting at 8 PM.
September 28th: As Jack Youngblood’s athletic legend grew from playing Super Bowl XIV with a broken leg, so grows the legend of Eddie Edwards. Edwards did the unthinkable on Saturday, taking his place beside Davey Richards and entering Ladder War II – with a broken arm. And this was no hairline fracture; Edwards essentially snapped off a huge chunk of his elbow on Friday night in Boston during his street fight with Kevin Steen. Edwards went to the hospital after the bout, and ROH officials got the news at 3:30am Saturday morning. Remarkably, less than 4 hours later, Edwards called again to advise that he would still be in New York and unbelievably, that he intended on competing in the Ladder War. And it was Edwards, locking El Generico in the Achilles Lock while both men were nearly 20 feet up a ladder, which allowed Richards to scale the ladder and earn the victory for the Wolves. Edwards is scheduled for surgery this Thursday to have a steel plate and screws inserted into his arm to mend the broken elbow, and he will miss some action. ROH officials are awaiting the official post-op prognosis and rehabilitation schedule before deciding what action, if any, is needed to address the World Tag Team Championship.
September 28th: With Eddie Edwards’ surgery this week, he will be unable to compete when ROH returns to Collinsville and Indianapolis on October 9th and 10th. The cards for both events will be shuffled accordingly, and we can now announce the first changes. Davey Richards of the World Champion American Wolves has now signed to take on Kenny Omega in singles action! This is a huge test for Omega, as Davey has had a remarkable 2009. His match against Bryan Danielson from Boston last Friday may well end up the match of the year! Can Omega open more eyes and shock Richards in suburban St. Louis?
September 28th: The change above left the Young Bucks’ Collinsville contract open, an opening that was almost immediately signed by Kenny King and Rhett Titus! “Man, I am sick of hearing about the Young Bucks,” said King. “It’s time they get knocked down a peg or two – Rhett and me – we’re the true Up and Comers.” It’s King and Titus versus the Young Bucks on 10/9! We’ll have more on the October 9th and 10th cards this week in the Newswire!
September 28th: The psychological war between Eddie Kingston and Chris Hero took another turn last Saturday night. Kingston was poised to let Hero feel the power of his own green elbow guard. Shane Hagadorn drew the attention of the referee, and Hero, once again ahead of the curve, donned a gold elbow guard and beat Kingston to the punch. Kingston was furious post-match, destroying the ringside area. We’ll have more on this as it develops.

September 28th: We at Ring of Honor want to go on record to thank the fans of Boston, for a record crowd on Friday and an amazing enthusiasm, and the fans of New York, for helping us sell out and for being unbelievable once again. We couldn’t have hoped for two better nights with two better crowds. Thank you all very much! This past weekend was truly special for a variety of reasons, but mostly so for the wonderful celebration of the ROH careers of Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness. Although it’s been said, we can’t stress it enough. Thank you to Bryan and Nigel. For your dedication, your resolve to be great, your passion, and your unparalleled professionalism. Our locker room is better from having you both in it, and we know that locker rooms going forward will come to feel precisely the same. We miss you both already.
