Here's a look at the line-up
World Tag Team Title Match
- NEW JAPAN'S Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) defend vs. The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards)
As you will see in this weekend's edition of ROH TV, brand new World Tag Team Champions were crowned in Providence when reDRagon had their scheduled Proving Ground bout with The Forever Hooligans upgraded into a World Title bout! That decision ultimately cost them their titles and now the current IWGP Jr. Tag Champions & newly crowned World Tag Team Champions WILL defend the ROH titles against the two men originally scheduled to face reDRagon in Toronto: The American Wolves!
The history between these two teams, particularly Davey Richards and Rocky Romero, has been discussed in the past and the collision at the “11th Anniversary Event” between these two duos left the fans wanting more! Now they will get that opportunity in Toronto when The Forever Hooligans defend the World Tag Team Titles against Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards!!!! As an aside, the former champs informed Nigel McGuinness after Providence that they will not be making the trip to Toronto in protest...
Ring of Honor World Title Tournament- First Round Match
Kevin Steen vs. Brian Kendrick
Three years ago Brian Kendrick came to the “8th Anniversary Show” and battled Roderick Strong one-on-one in his first ROH match in nearly five years. The man formerly called Spanky fell in defeat and disappeared from Ring of Honor once again. Now in Toronto he will make his return to ROH competition with the expressed purpose of claiming the World Title as his own! Kendrick is one of two men who competed in the original ROH Title tourney in 2002 and while his opponent at “Road to the Title” is engaged with another competitor in Toronto, Kendrick must square off with one of the former World Champions involved in this tournament: Kevin Steen. Coming off the decimation of S.C.U.M in Steel Cage Warfare, Steen is solely focused on becoming champion for the second time and this time carrying the belt with an honor and integrity that he knows was lacking during his first reign with wrestling's most prestigious World Title.
Ring of Honor World Title Tournament- First Round Match
Paul London vs. "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin
Originally scheduled to take place in Toronto back in May, a concussion to Paul London during a bout with Davey Richards put this one on hold albeit temporarily. Now, three months, later London is ready to go and the fans of Toronto will get their chance to witness the match they missed out on but this time with the stakes a great deal higher! London, the only other man involved in this tournament who was part of the original “Road to the Title” tourney, looks to get one step closer to achieving the dream that he never did prior to leaving ROH in 2003 while Elgin, a man who was the #1 Contender prior to Jay Briscoe being stripped of the title, hopes to kick his personal road to the title off the right way in his home country.
Ring of Honor World Title Tournament- First Round Match
World TV Champion Matt Taven vs. Roderick Strong
After missing the Milwaukee, Dearborn, and Providence events, Roderick Strong returns to ROH fresh off a successful tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan where he took part in the G+ Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League. One of just two Triple Crown Champions in ROH history, "Mr. ROH" goes head-to-head with a man coming off a victory over Kevin Steen at “Reclamation: Night 2”, World TV Champion Matt Taven in the First Round! The history between Strong and Taven's manager/partner/mentor Truth Martini runs deep and you know Strong would love nothing more than to shut down the HoT's ambitions of bringing the World Title back into the fold.
Ring of Honor World Title Tournament- First Round Match
Michael Bennett vs. BJ Whitmer
The rubber match; Bennett and Whitmer have collided on two other occasions, first at “Best in the World 2013” where BJ got the victory and then at “Reclamation: Night 1” where it was Bennett who was victorious. Now, with the stakes much higher than their previous collisions, the two combatants will lock horns once again with their respective dreams of becoming World Champion on the line! Will Bennett get closer to living up to his potential or will it be BJ who continues his journey towards that ultimate redemption?
Ring of Honor World Title Tournament- First Round Match
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Silas Young
As part of the ROH TV Tapings in Providence, Silas Young defeated both Adam Page and late entry QT Marshall in a Qualifying Bout to secure this spot in the tournament. It is a great achievement in Young's career but unfortunately for him, “Wrestling's Last Real Man” has to contend with the guy he struck with a hammer at “Reclamation: Night 2”! While Ciampa did get a measure of revenge that night, the Psychopath would no doubt find it even sweeter to shut down Young's title aspirations right out of the gate. Since the day he made his return to ROH at “Border Wars 2013”, Ciampa has been on a tear and certainly looks to continue his aggressive assault throughout the World Title Tournament!
Ring of Honor World Title Tournament- Quarter Final Match
Adam Cole vs. Jay Lethal
As a result of victories in their respective first round World Title Tournament match-ups during the Providence TV Taping event, Adam Cole and Jay Lethal will go one-on-one in Toronto in the only Quarter-Final bout of the night! Cole bested Mark Briscoe last Saturday while Lethal took down Sonjay Dutt, and now they will lock up one-on-one for the first time since “Northern Aggression” in hopes of being the first man to advance to the Semi-Finals!
Triple Threat Tag Team Action
The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) vs. C&C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander) vs. Adrenaline RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas)
One of the most in-demand teams in all of pro wrestling, The Young Bucks of Matt & Nick Jackson are set to make their return to ROH competition at “All Star Extravaganza V” on Saturday night and their bout was just finalized earlier this week! In what is sure to be a chaotic high-flying extravaganza that showcases the greatness of ROH's tag team division, The Bucks will meet up with BOTH C&C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander) AND Adrenaline RUSH (Tadarius Thomas & ACH) in a First Fall, 3-Way Tag collision! Will The Bucks have a triumphant return or will one of the other duos play spoiler for The Jackson's comeback?
International Showdown
NEW JAPAN'S Kushida vs. Adam Page
One-half of The Time Splitters alongside ROH alum Alex Shelley, KUSHIDA make his Ring of Honor debut this Saturday night when he takes on Adam Page in a non-tournament bout! This is without a doubt the biggest challenge of Page's young career as the eyes of the entire wrestling world will be on this match-up between one of the newest faces on the ROH scene and a former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion!
It's “All Star Extravaganza V” THIS Saturday night in Toronto and you can get your tickets right here, right now, or at the door on the day of the show! Plus, as an added bonus for the fans in attendance on Saturday, you will be able to get your tickets for our May 10, 2014 return to the Ted Reeve Arena before anyone else!!!
