June 18th: The latest edition of the ROH Videowire is now available for viewing at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fORdJFDrZAI. The heartfelt 10 Bell Salute given by the entire ROH Family in honor of Mitsuharu Misawa is shown, as well as words from the Briscoe Brothers, the American Wolves, and Bryan Danielson. Plus, we get a new “trailer” from Joey Ryan, a look at the ROH 7th Anniversary Show on DVD, and a sneak peak at this weekend’s episode of ROH on HDNet. And finally, we have footage of new ROH World Champion Austin Aries and his post-match celebration from New York.

June 18th: Speaking of Aries, his verdict is in. His scheduled match this weekend in Philadelphia against Roderick Strong will NOT be for the ROH World Title. In short, Aries plainly told Strong that he’ll need to beat him on HDNet in order to “get his name thrown into the hat”, and only then will he ever have a shot at his title. When asked for a comment, Strong retorted, “What’s there to say now? I’ll give him my response in person.”

June 18th: Former ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn has had a rough week since losing the World Title in New York. “I said to myself, if Tyler wins it, I can live with it,” commented the classy Lynn. “He beat me clean in Manassas, and then I knew that here was a guy with a tremendous future. But then Aries took advantage of a situation caused by Jimmy Jacobs and now he wears the belt.” In the past, Lynn has publically questioned whether or not he still has what it takes to hang on after a stellar 20+ year career. “Winning the title told me I belonged. It validated everything. But now, I’ve got to take another hard look at things. Losing is part of the game. But losing the title at 46 years old might just be father time telling me it’s time to go.” Lynn is scheduled to face Tyler Black once more on Saturday in Philadelphia.

June 18th: Aries apparently wasn’t through wheeling and dealing, as his matches scheduled for next weekend in Detroit and Chicago respectively became much more interesting once he claimed the World Title for the second time. The Six Man Scramble that Aries is scheduled for in Detroit is a non-title affair, but now with added intrigue as ROH officials have ruled that a win by anyone in the match other than Aries would propel that competitor into a World Title match down the line. Aries was unhappy when hearing this news, but understood, “Look, I get it,” said A Double. “If the champion loses in a non-title match, then whoever he lost to gets a chance at the belt.” He went on to add, “But that just tells me one thing – that I better make sure no one but the “greatest man who ever lived” wins. Simple.”

June 18th: Ring of Honor is well represented on today’s most popular social networking sites. Keep up with ROH on Twitter at http://twitter.com/rohonhdnet, on Facebook at http://facebook.com/ringofhonor, and on MySpace at http://myspace.com/ringofhonor. Get your daily ROH fix up-to-the-minute!

June 18th: Nigel McGuinness will have the test of a lifetime as he returns to action this weekend against Tyler Black in Philly. The injured arm of Nigel has had some time to recuperate, but there are those out there that aren’t buying Nigel’s claims that he’s ready for action. Tyler Black is on a road to rebuilding his confidence, after losing out on a ripe chance to pluck the ROH Title in New York, and he knows a win over the former champion would serve him well.

June 18th: Austin Aries is keeping his eye on McGuinness this weekend as well, as he signed to face McGuinness in Chicago weeks before he regained the World Title. Since McGuinness never got a rematch against then-champion Jerry Lynn, ROH officials have ruled that Aries/McGuinness in Chicago will be a World Title Match. “Seems like the fates have a soft spot for ol’ McGuinness,” said Nigel. “And I’m obliged for sure. A Double better keep his eye on the ball, or he might have the shortest reign in history.” Don’t forget that “Nature Boy” Ric Flair also appears in both Detroit and Chicago! Tickets available at
www.rohwrestling.com!

June 18th: Grizzly Redwood has petitioned the ROH Booking Committee to face “Dirty” Ernie Osiris in a “Beard versus Beard” match. Prince Nana has vehemently declared that he will not allow this outrage to occur. More on this as it develops.

June 18th: You heard the American Wolves’ thoughts in the Videowire. As reported a couple of days ago, ROH officials have seen their phones ring non-stop with calls from Kevin Steen, DEMANDING a rematch because of how the Wolves secured victory at Manhattan Mayhem III. Generico had smartly battled to protect his knee the entire match, the clear target of the Wolves, and was set to bring home the titles with his patented Super Brainbuster. Then Shane Hagadorn distracted referee Paul Turner, and opened the window that Richards needed to grab the ringbell and attack Generico’s knee. Moments later Edwards had cinched in his Achilles Lock and the match was over. But that’s not the end of things. ROH officials, along with Steen and Generico, are outraged at the way the Wolves did business, but the effect serves their cause. “Who cares how, we beat ‘em,” said Edwards. “They don’t get another title match.” ROH President Cary Silkin, in particular, is disappointed how things went down, but found a happy resolution. Silkin has ordered another match between the two teams, taking place on June 27th in Chicago. “The Wolves are correct,” said Silkin. “This match won’t be for the titles. But that’s a technicality because I’m mandating that if Steen and Generico can beat the Wolves in Chicago, they will be granted a championship match of their choosing.” Richards’ countered, “That’s fine, but if WE win, they NEVER get another shot as long as we hold the belts.” Silkin has agreed to that stipulation and the match is set. It will be Steen and Generico against the Wolves after all in Chicago, with the future of the ROH World Tag Team Titles seemingly at stake! Get your tickets now!

June 16th: Austin Aries did just what he said he would last Saturday in New York City. He shocked the crowd by claiming the ROH World Championship for an unprecedented second time. Former champion, Jerry Lynn, was visibly shaken after the bout, having fallen to Tyler Black’s Small Package Driver to be the first man eliminated in the contest. The classy Lynn refused comment, and was comforted backstage by Colt Cabana. Tyler Black was a mix of dejection and rage after the bout, knowing that Jimmy Jacobs had gotten into his head and forced him to act when maybe he shouldn’t have. “I thought it was the right time,” said Black. “I was so wrapped up in what Jacobs pulled in the First Blood match, I – I just wanted to make it right. And I was consumed, and I lost focus, and I lost. I lost. It won’t happen again.” Black faces Nigel McGuinness on Friday Night in Philadelphia, and then will take on Jimmy Jacobs inside a Steel Cage on the 26th in Detroit before facing KENTA on the 27th in Chicago. The going isn't getting any easier for Tyler.

June 16th: Aries has been scheduled to face old rival Roderick Strong in Philly on Saturday, and after his title win in New York, ROH officials began talks with Aries to see if he’s willing to put the belt on the line on HDNet. Aries’ comments on this matter will be seen in this week’s ROH Videowire.

June 16th: We have been informed that Jon Davis of the Dark City Fight Club has been deemed medically unfit to wrestle this weekend as part of the ROH on HDNet National TV Tapings at the Arena in South Philly. As we all know, Davis had intricate surgery to repair several dislocations and ligament damage in his wrist. Neither Davis, nor Kory Chavis, has returned phone calls from ROH officials in reference to this news.

June 16th: Ring of Honor and HDNet roll back into Philadelphia on Friday and Saturday night to film six more weeks of ROH on HDNet! Without question, two of the biggest breakout stars on the program are Kenny King and Rhett Titus. Since hooking up with Austin Aries, they’ve seen a meteoric rise through the ROH tag team ranks, and to that end, they’ve just signed for a huge tag team match! On Saturday, King and Titus will find themselves against perhaps their biggest test. A victory here could propel King and Titus over the proverbial “hump”, and they will attempt to defeat the most prolific tag team in ROH history – Jay and Mark – The Briscoe Brothers! This will mark the first time in several months that the former five time ROH World Tag Team Champions will stand together in battle. Can King and Titus ‘man up’, or will the Briscoes dispatch them on their way to revenge on the Wolves?

June 16th: Speaking of the Wolves, we already know that El Generico will have his shot at personal redemption as he gets his hands on Davey Richards one-on-one on Friday night. We’re happy to announce that on Friday, Kevin Steen will also get the chance to hunt a Wolf as he’ll take on Eddie Edwards in singles competition. This is an ROH on HDNet rematch from Episode Two, and now after the events at Manhattan Mayhem III, the stakes have never been higher! The Wolves have proven deadly when running together, but can Steen and Generico uncover their weaknesses when they’re by themselves?   Tickets are now on sale for both nights of action this weekend in Philadelphia at www.rohwrestling.com.

June 16th: Speaking of Steen and Generico and their saga with the American Wolves, the fans of New York saw Davey Richards blatantly use the ring bell to attack El Generico’s injured knee, and moments later, he was tapping out to Edwards’ Achilles Lock. Both Steen and Generico have been on the phone with ROH officials seemingly non-stop since last Saturday, livid over how the match ended. Steen has demanded a rematch, and while ROH officials agree wholeheartedly and have been trying to sign another bout, Richards and Edwards have been completely nonchalant about the matter. “Why should we fight them again,” said Edwards. “They’re old news, they’re losers, and we’ve proven who the best tag team in the world is. We’ve outwrestled them, out-fought them, and we’ve out-toughed them. They sure as hell don’t deserve another crack at our titles.” We will have more comments from the Wolves in the upcoming ROH Videowire. More on this as it develops.

June 16th: After an impressive debut in Manassas last weekend, ROH officials are happy to announce that Shawn Spears will debut in Philadelphia on July 17th and 18th as part of the National Television tapings for ROH and HDNet.

June 16th: Jimmy Rave was defeated, but managed to avoid destruction at the hands of the Necro Butcher in New York. Necro once again showed more wrestling skill than people give him credit for by rolling Rave up. But that didn’t stop the Embassy from attacking the Butcher, with Rave applying the Heel Hook until Colt Cabana could run them off. Necro was ready for war backstage, screaming “Rave!” over and over while searching everywhere for the Crown Jewel. Necro vowed, “This war has just begun!”
