July 2nd: Words were exchanged a couple of days ago between Kevin Steen and Davey Richards stemming from Steen and Generico’s victory over the Wolves last Saturday night in Chicago. Steen made reference to Wolves not hunting so well on their own, and Richards quipped that he wouldn’t be alone in Toronto. We now know why he said that. Signed for July 24th on night one of “Death Before Dishonor VII” is a humongous tag team grudge match. Davey Richards has signed to team with long time stable mate, “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero, to take on Kevin Steen and his partner for the evening, Lance Storm! Storm was eager to accept this match, as he’s looking for any excuse to get his hands on Hero, and Steen couldn’t think of a better way to get his hands on Richards AND help avenge his countryman at the same time! Don’t forget, Bret “Hitman” Hart will be on hand for this one! Tickets for this big event are available at www.rohwrestling.com!

July 2nd: The Super Smash Brothers took a huge gamble when they signed to face Mark and Jay Briscoe on July 24th in Toronto. Not only are they hoping to turn even more heads, but they’re banking on “Death Before Dishonor VII” to make their ROH careers. And now the road gets even tougher for the young Canadian duo. Signed for July 25th -Night 2 of DBDVII - is a contest pitting the Super Smash Brothers against the team that they have grown to idolize, former ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kevin Steen and El Generico! “I see the hunger inside them,” said Steen. “They want it so bad, but I’ve got to be honest, taking on the Briscoes and Generico and I on back-to-back nights is crazy. It just goes to show how badly they want it, how far they’re willing to go. We respect them, but now we have to show them what Canadian tag team wrestling is all about.” It’ll be two of Canada’s finest tag team exports going head to head on July 25th! Get your tickets now!
July 2nd: Ring of Honor wishes everyone a happy and safe Independence Day! ROH on HDNet is preempted this weekend, but will return on July 11th with a brand new episode! Happy Fourth of July to all!
June 30th: The fans in both Detroit and Chicago deserve one hell of a pat on the back, and their enthusiasm and passion definitely shined last weekend! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to the D and the Windy City for supporting Ring of Honor and showing up in a major way! ROH returns to Detroit on December 4th and we roll back into Chi-Town on September 19th! Tickets are on sale for both events at www.rohwrestling.com, and don’t forget, on 9/19 in Chicago, Bret “Hitman” Hart will appear!
June 30th: Tyler Black went toe-to-toe with KENTA for nearly twenty minutes last Saturday, and it took TWO Go-2-Sleeps for KENTA to secure the victory. The ROH faithful chanted “this is awesome” as the match went on, and both men, exhausted from the incredible display, showed immense respect for one another as they shook hands and embraced after the final bell tolled. “It took me a few times before I was able to beat Bryan (Danielson),” said Black. “And I feel like I was a lot closer to beating KENTA in my first try than I was with Dragon. I am already looking forward to proving myself to KENTA again.” Perhaps a budding rivalry was born last Saturday night in Chicago.
June 30th: Jimmy Jacobs left the Frontier Fieldhouse last Saturday night in a much different way than he had hoped. After the shocking events of Detroit on Friday night, where some 50 members of the Age of the Fall swarmed the ringside area, overwhelming security and the fans, Jacobs appeared to have been reveling in his role as a God among Man. In that surreal scene, with his followers carrying him out of the building on their shoulders like a King, Jacobs looked like he’d outsmarted everyone. But Saturday night in Chicago couldn’t have been a more perfect example of the opposite – his followers, down in numbers, actually left him behind after Tyler Black, El Generico, Kevin Steen, and Delirious thwarted whatever plan Jacobs had. As Jacobs was hung from the rafters, shouts of “disappointment” filled the air, and when it was all done, Jacobs bolted through the front door and was seen on his knees in tears as the rain fell outside. All attempts to contact Jimmy Jacobs since Saturday have gone unanswered.
June 30th: Nigel McGuinness said that fate was on his side as he rolled into Chicago. But the man that has been stirring the pot was visibly shaken after falling to ROH World Champion Austin Aries last weekend. Fans have noticed a lack of the patented McGuinness Lariat since he’s returned to action, and more than one has commented that Nigel just doesn’t look like himself. Sources have intimated that Nigel is having a rough time trying to reinvent himself in the ring, as he’s physically unable to use the maneuver that made him famous. He’ll have two more opportunities to right the ship when ROH returns to Toronto for ‘Death Before Dishonor VII’ weekend. We’ll have Nigel’s match announcements soon, right here in the ‘wire.
June 30th: Attention Toronto! Ring of Honor is happy to announce that the official ROH After Party on July 24th will be housed at ‘The Champions’ Den Sports Bar’ – a brand new sports bar and eating establishment in the heart of Greek Town on Toronto’s east end! The Champions’ Den offers a one-of-a-kind experience, with great food and rink, all while showcasing all of your favorite combat sports – MMA, Boxing, and Pro Wrestling! Oh, and it’s owned and operated by long-time member of the Embassy – Jade Chung! The Champion’s Den opens for business on July 20th, with the ROH after party on the 24th, and is located at 397 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, ON M4K 1P1. For more info, go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/edit/?id=120395420931#/pages/Toronto-ON/THE-CHAMPIONS-DEN-SPORTS-BAR/120395420931?ref=ts. We’ll see you all there on July 24th!
June 30th: Kevin Steen and El Generico did it! They’ve defeated the American Wolves and in doing so, have earned the right to name a date and stipulation for their next championship match. “It was only a matter of time,” said Steen. “The Wolves have shown they’ll go to any length, stoop to any level, dig into any garbage can, but at the end of the day, we took it all and kept coming back. Now we get our shot, our chance to take back the World Tag Team Titles, and we wanted it in Toronto! But of course, Eddie Edwards strategically scheduled a NOAH tour for himself so Generico and I have to wait. But that’s fine, rest assured, we’ll both be in action in Toronto. And Davey, I know you’ll be in Toronto too. And we’ve all seen that Wolves don’t hunt so well when they’re by all by themselves.” Davey Richards refused comment other than to say, “I’ll be in Toronto, but I’ll hardly be alone, fatty.” More on this as it develops.

June 30th: D-Lo Brown made a statement in Chicago last Saturday when he was able to defeat Roderick Strong. “What can Brown do to you?” said D-Lo. “Ask Roddy. And in Toronto on July 25th, in the first ever Toronto Gauntlet, I’ll show five other wannabes. And when it’s finished, I’ll be looking at you Austin Aries. And I owe you one.”
