Lance Storm has been fuming for nearly a year now. Since “Northern Navigation”, where Chris Hero attacked Lance from behind, Storm has been aching for an opportunity to get his hands "That Young Knockout Kid." Sure he managed to get him in a half-crab that night, and yes Storm managed to level Shane Hagadorn with a superkick, but nothing is quite as satisfying as pinning someone in the center of the ring, or making them tap out in front of the world. That is what Lance Storm wants more than anything, and that is the opportunity he will get on Saturday night, July 25th at “Death Before Dishonor VII, Night 2” when Hero is forced to face Storm one-on-one.
But now Storm will have an opportunity to soften up Hero before they square off in singles competition. ROH officials have come to terms on a match for Friday night July 24th that will give four men a chance to get out some of their aggression. In a tag team grudge match, it will be Chris Hero & Davey Richards going head-to-head with the duo of Kevin Steen & Lance Storm! The history of Steen & Richards has been well documented over the last half-year, with blood being spilt on both sides of that war, but with Steen & Generico’s recent victory in Chicago Ridge, that feud is about to be elevated to a whole new level, and this may be the first page of a new chapter in their story. We should have words from Kevin Steen regarding this match in an upcoming ROH Video Wire.
As for Hero and Storm, it is an obviously an opportunity to knock each other down a peg before their singles match the next night. Both men have been training overtime in preparation for this match; Storm with the students at his Wrestling Academy and Hero at the Pro Wrestling NOAH dojo. In fact, Hero has been competing in NOAH throughout the month of June and has racked up some impressive victories over Akihiko Ito and Kento Miyahara among others, as well as facing Takayama, Kensuke Sasaki, and former ally Go Shiozaki just to name a few. They are both on top of their game right now, and between Friday and Saturday night in Toronto, one man will prove himself the superior athlete. We also hope to have some words from Chris Hero in an upcoming Video Wire.
Tickets are available for both Friday night July 24th and Saturday July 25th right here at www.rohwrestling.com, and don’t forget both Bret Hart (Friday) and Ric Flair (Saturday) will be in attendance over the course of the weekend for special autograph signings.
