After a successful defense against of the ROH World Six Man Tag Team titles against Colt Cabana and the Tempura Boyz, the champs went into the War of the Worlds UK Tour on a major roll.&nbsp;</div><div><!--break--></div><div><br />On Night One in London, Castle and the Boys successfully defended their championships against Delirious, Jushin Thunder Liger, and Mistico. On Night Two, Castle looked primed to capture the ROH World Television Title. Castle had Hiromu Takahashi pinned and surely would have captured the ROH World TV Title, what would have been his first singles title in ROH, before Adam Page of Bullet Club interfered.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Page and Bullet Club had announced in the previous weeks that they intended to do whatever it took for Marty Scurll to recapture the ROH World Television Title on Night 2 at War of the Worlds UK – Liverpool on iPPV. But Castle saw this as a shot across the bow by Bullet Club. Page’s interference not only definitely cost Castle an opportunity to leave as champion but also resulted in Castle being pinned in the center of the ring by the defending champion KUSHIDA.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Following a successful defense of the World Championship later in the evening on iPPV, “The American Nightmare” Cody stated that there was no one left, that he has defeated everyone. That is when the Peacock’s music hit. Castle’s frustrations with Bullet Club, dating back to Cody attacking both he and Christopher Daniels following their World Title bout at Supercard of Honor, led to him confronting Cody and Castle answered the champion’s open challenge! The challenge was left unanswered.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>With one night left to go, Cody was guaranteed to leave the tour ROH World Champion. But there were no guarantees for Castle to leave the UK with his title around his waist. In their second defense in three days, Castle and the Boys lost their titles to Page and the ROH World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks, known as the Hung Bucks.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>But the victory wasn’t enough for Bullet Club. So offended, or perhaps threatened, by the prospect of Castle challenging for the ROH World Title, Cody viciously attacked Dalton Castle in Edinburgh! In footage that will be shown to fans, Cody made sure he had a camera crew in tow to document this cowardly attack!&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Due to the attack, Castle is unable to compete at Saturday’s Saturday Night at Center Stage. Keep it locked in to ROHWrestling.com for the latest updates on Castle’s condition.</div><div>&nbsp;</div> Wed, 23 Aug 2017 15:08:03 +0000 Chris Hall 523546 at http://www.rohwrestling.com Taven Winning Big in Mexico Ahead of International Grand Prix http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/taven-winning-big-mexico-ahead-international-grand-prix <div class="field field-news-photo"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/media/photos/raven-cmll-success">raven-cmll-success</a> </div> </div> </div> <div><span style="font-size: 13px;">The relationship between CMLL and ROH has never been stronger! This weekend, fans in the UK and around the globe were buzzing about the ROH return of former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Ultimo Guerrero and the ROH debuts of CMLL legend Rey Bucanero and high flyers Mistico and Titan during the War of the Worlds Tour! What is the relationship between Taven and Corleone? Castle said that taking the title from him and The Boys is a task Cabana is not ready for.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Coast To Coast (LSG and Shaheem Ali) vs. Best Friends (Beretta and Chucky T)</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Rising Stars Coast To Coast went move-for-move with the veteran Best Friends and appeared primed to pull off the upset after LSG hit Saint’s Flosion on Beretta and Ali immediately followed up with a frog splash. Chucky T broke up the pin at the last second, however. LSG then went for a 450 Splash, but Beretta got his knees up, and that was the turning point. Chucky T hit a piledriver on LSG, and that flowed right into Beretta’s cradle piledriver on LSG for the win.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Jay Lethal Brawls With Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>In a backstage interview taped prior to the start of the show, Lethal said he won’t rest until he exacts revenge on Young and Bruiser for them putting him in the hospital. Young appeared on the scene to taunt Lethal, and a brawl quickly ensued. Lethal got the better of “Pro Wrestling’s Last Real Man,” but then Bruiser showed up. Lethal and Bruiser went at it, with Lethal gaining the upper hand by kicking Bruiser low. By that point, Young had recovered, and he nailed Lethal from behind. Young and Bruiser double-teamed Lethal until security arrived to break it up. After order was restored, an enraged Lethal demanded to face Young and Bruiser either in singles or tag matches. He said his issue with them is going to come to an end soon.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Matt Taven (w/Vinny Marseglia and TK O’Ryan) vs. Jay Briscoe</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Briscoe has suffered his share of frustration as of late and he was looking to take it out on Taven. However, the leader of The Kingdom came ready to fight and was determined to score his second victory over a former ROH World Champion in the past few months (Taven pinned Adam Cole in April). He nearly did it after landing a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Briscoe kicked out and eventually seized control of the match. Knowing Taven was in trouble, Marseglia tried to interfere, but Briscoe thwarted him with a neckbreaker. O’Ryan, still wearing a walking cast and using crutches after suffering a broken leg in March, began jawing with Briscoe and pointing his crutch at him. Briscoe grabbed the crutch and dragged O’Ryan into the ring. As O’Ryan crumbled in the corner and pleaded for mercy, Briscoe, with crutch in hand, turned his attention to Taven and Marseglia. Suddenly, O’Ryan removed the walking cast and nailed Briscoe in the head with it, causing Taven to be disqualified. After the match, The Kingdom placed a chair under the fallen Briscoe’s head and another on top of his head. Then all three Kingdom members picked up chairs and simultaneously slammed them onto a defenseless Briscoe.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>ROH World Champion Cody Taking On All Comers</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Cody bragged about all the successful title defenses he’s had. He brought in referee Todd Sinclair, who was holding a hat filled with names of challengers Cody has beaten. Two names drawn out of the hat were Jack Swagger and Ricochet. Cody said if anyone in ROH or any other promotion wants a shot, all they have to do is “sign up and show up.”</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title Match: Dalton Castle and The Boys (Champions) vs. Colt Cabana and The Tempura Boyz (Sho and Yo)&nbsp;</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Cabana and The Tempura Boyz had some communication issues during the match, but they eventually gained the upper hand thanks to a flurry of offense by Sho and Yo. The Tempura Boyz held one of The Boys as Cabana prepared to deliver his Flip, Flop and Fly combination. Castle broke it up, however, and cleaned house on all three challengers. Castle went on to hit Bangarang on Cabana for the victory. After the match, Castle grabbed a microphone and told Cabana that the two of them have been at odds for a while, but he said he always admired Cabana and Cabana was an inspiration to him before he ever laced up the boots. Castle told Cabana he wants to like him. Castle noted that he has defeated Cabana three times now. “Have I earned your respect, yet?” Castle asked. Cabana extended his hand, and Castle accepted the handshake.</div> Tue, 22 Aug 2017 14:57:41 +0000 Chris Hall 523236 at http://www.rohwrestling.com New World Six Man Tag Team Champions Crowned in Edinburgh http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/new-world-six-man-tag-team-champions-crowned-edinburgh <div class="field field-news-photo"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/media/photos/6-man-rotor">6-man-rotor</a> </div> </div> </div> <div>Last night in Edinburgh, Scottland, Ring of Honor crowned new World Six Man Tag Team Champions! For Cheeseburger and Will Ferrara, their career paths were strikingly similar. After years of being told things like “No just means not now” and “Your time will come”, both have forged their own paths.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>For Cheeseburger, hard work and persistence after being told he couldn’t led to two appearances in the Tokyo Dome and a win on Pay Per View teaming with his mentor, the legendary Jushin “Thunder” Liger. For Ferrara, eight years of training from age 15 led to being the runner up in the 2015 Top Prospect Tournament, a ROH contract, and a resume that would make any similarly aged wrestler blush.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The two stars in their mid-20s formed a partnership around working hard and respecting professional wrestling. For months, the two won Future of Honor Friday bouts and competed on ROH television before answering the open challenge of the ROH World Tag Team Champion Young Bucks.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>It was the opportunity of a lifetime for two stars so early in their careers. But, like their initial friendship, one that grew even stronger as the two became the trainers at the ROH Dojo, timing was everything. In a match against Chris Sabin and Jonathan Gresham on ROH TV, cracks began to show after what looked like a simple miscommunication. ‘Burger and Ferrara would pick up wins against The Carnies and The Fraternity and all appeared to be well.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>But jealousy began to show even more in a Six Man Mayhem Instant Reward bout in Dearborn. Cheeseburger earned a ROH World Television Championship match with a win in a match that also included Ferrara. In a ROH TV loss to War Machine, Cheeseburger showed the heart of a lion and fighting spirit while Ferrara watched his partner get beat to a pulp. But they swore the partnership was stronger than ever.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>They surprised the live Chicago crowd when they answered the Young Bucks open challenge. Ultimately, Ferrara and ‘Burger lost and the night concluded with Ferrara turning his back on his partner, striking with a low-blow. Since then, Ferrara has taken every opportunity to attack ‘Burger, including doing so at an autograph signing in Concord, NC. Following a soon-to-air television bout, Cheeseburger challenged Ferrara and the match between the two has been signed for Atlanta!</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The friendship is fractured and ‘Burger is seeking revenge. The interference resulted in the match being thrown out. Scurll and Page were up to the challenge, however, and Scurll nearly won the match for his team after hitting a powerbomb on Kushida for a near fall. After King was tagged in, he stunned Scurll with a springboard blockbuster and later hit a spinning heel kick into a Royal Flush on Page for the win. After the match, King and Kushida shook hands in a display of mutual respect.</div> Tue, 15 Aug 2017 18:56:54 +0000 Chris Hall 520931 at http://www.rohwrestling.com Honor Rumble Signed for Saturday Night at Center Stage http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/honor-rumble-signed-saturday-night-center-stage <div class="field field-sub-title"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Winner gets a shot at the ROH World Title </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-news-photo"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/media/photos/sncs-rotor">sncs-rotor</a> </div> </div> </div> <!--break--><div><br />The Best Wrestling on the Planet returns to historic Center Stage for an international TV taping featuring the hard-hitting, fast-paced, in-your-face action that only Ring of Honor can provide!
